The Bible and Race

By Steve Gregg

As we see the end of the year approaching, I’m sure most of us would like nothing better than to see 2020 in our review mirrors and a distant memory. I join you in the sentiment and yet, here we are. While this year has been and still is proving to be a challenge on multiple fronts, it is important to stop and consider what lessons we need to be learning in the midst of these troubles. What sort of issues are being forced to the forefront that we need to prayerfully consider.

One of the issues that 2020 has brought to the forefront is the issue of racial tensions, justice and a Christian response. To help us in thinking about this topic biblically, over the next 4 weeks, we will be posting links to articles from Tim Keller on matters of justice and race. We are choosing Keller’s articles from a wide range of possibilities because we hope it helps to lay some groundwork in helping us understand the Biblical foundations.  While there are any number of possible starting points, I think these 4 articles will help us as we seek to grow in a more biblical worldview as well as an appreciation for the burdens and challenges faced by brothers and sisters in the faith in the African American community.

The first article, The Bible and Race can be found here.

Please take the time to read and feel free to discuss with it others. Please know that it is our desire to grow in faithfully loving our neighbors and this is a part of doing that well during these times.
