This Sunday, we’re excited to kick off the first of two fall sermon series. Together, they will help us understand God’s design for creation, our place in that design, and the preeminence of Christ over all of it.
Designed and Ordered: Genesis 1-3
The fall will begin with a seven-week series looking at the first three chapters of the Bible. We all have a sense that things are not the way they are supposed to be. We look at the pain, brokenness, and evil of the world around us, and we know this world was designed for something better. But what would that ‘better’ be? What is the ideal state we should be aiming for? As we turn to the very beginning of the Bible, we find in Genesis 1-3 the picture of how things ought to be, the reason for why we aren’t there now, and the hope for how we might one day return.

Áldás, békesség (Blessing and Peace)! Thank you for praying for last month’s Hungary trip. The Creekside team (Clay Myatt, Caleb and Lily Dykes, Alex Tongue and I) helped to lead a 5-day family camp for our Újpest brother church and a 2-day Youth Retreat with the Reformed church in Gyöngyös. Both were a success and a blessing.
Dear Creekside family,
Many of you have probably heard by now the great news about Sunday’s overwhelming “Yes” vote to bring Steve Lammers onto the staff as our next Youth Pastor. I am excited to work with him as a fellow pastor and staff member, but even more thrilled as a parent to have Steve leading the team working with our youth. Steve’s official start date will be Monday, August 19th. Toward that end, would you join me in praying for the following?

We’re on a roll with exciting updates! This week, we want to let you in on a brand new resource from Creekside.
According to Jesus, one of the ways we should love God is with our minds. This is why we offer Sundays at 9 classes throughout the school year. From preschool on up, these classes cover a wide range of biblical texts, theological concepts, and current issues from a biblical perspective. It is our desire that Creeksiders would know the Bible and orthodox Christian doctrine.
With that in mind, we’re excited to announce a brand new podcast called Pastors at the Mic! This podcast will be hosted by Steve Gregg (lead pastor) and myself. Our goal is to provide another resource for our congregation and anyone else who might be interested.

Notice anything different? You’re looking at The Current, Creekside’s new weekly email. The Current is one part of a thoughtful restructuring and redesign of our communication strategy at Creekside. Our goal is to get you the information you need in a simple, easily accessible form. In total, we’ve made four major changes to our communication platforms to better serve you!
The Current - Weekly Email
First, we completely reimagined our weekly email, resulting in a pretty substantial change and new format which will be called The Current. Each week, a pastor will write a short blog on various topics such as Creekside ministries, theological or cultural topics, or even a good book we’ve read. We hope these emails will feel much more like a weekly note from one of your pastors. We’ll include two or three major announcements we want to keep on your radar, with action steps included if you’d like more information. And that’s it. Short and simple.
Curious what else we’ve updated? Keep reading to find out!
