Creekside has always placed a high value on hospitality. Honestly, it’s one of the things that attracted me to this church. I love the fact that Creeksiders regularly open their homes, whether to share meals or to provide a respite for those who need a place to stay.
This Sunday, August 23, is our Welcome Back Sunday. This is the time of the year when students are coming back into town, the summer travel season has come to an end, and we kick off our ministry year together at Creekside.
Of course, this will be an utterly unique Welcome Back Sunday. We really have no idea what to expect! How many students will return? How many people will want to attend an in-person church service? Beside giving blind guesses, the only thing we can do is prepare ourselves.
So I wanted to ask you a few favors as we look forward to this year’s Welcome Back Sunday. First, please RSVP for the service if you are planning to attend in person! We really need to be on top of the number of people who are planning to attend so that we can make a plan for the possible need for overflow. If you are planning to attend, you can click the link at the top of this email, or just click here.
Second, please consider sitting a little closer to the front than you might normally sit. Most guests will prefer a seat a little toward the back. Some will also arrive a little late, and we’d like to spare them having to choose between sitting closer than recommended or having to walk all the way to the front. One simple way to extend hospitality is to leave some of the “prime” seats open for our guests (though of course I think the prime seats are closest to the front anyway!).
Third, please continue to observe physical distancing and wear your masks. I know this seems tedious and annoying, but we are committed to following the wisdom and guidance of the experts and being good citizens of our governing bodies. At Creekside, the only barrier to entry should be the gospel; we don’t want to add anything to that list by ignoring the guidelines!
As always, we praise God for His ongoing provision to Creekside, especially during this time of uncertainty. If you want to hear more details on how God has cared for us, come to the worship center at 9 AM on Sunday for our Fall Family Meeting, or tune into the livestream on our YouTube Channel. We’ll see you on Sunday!
