If you look at Scripture it is clear that one of the things God’s people have always been about is teaching and passing on God’s wisdom and instructions. Creekside has therefore always believed that a key role of the church is to be that teaching community, where the truth and grace of the Bible is explored and unpacked in ways that impact our day to day lives. We have seen God’s faithfulness to our church family by providing gifted women and men as teachers, who have greatly blessed our church.
I am so grateful to say that we see that legacy continue as we bring Eric Olson and Lark Kelsey on to the Creekside staff to help with overseeing Christian Education. Eric is a candidate for the position of Associate Pastor of Christian Education, while Lark is being brought on as a Director of Christian Education to work alongside of Eric. These two will over see our adult classes which will include not only overseeing developing curriculum but also helping us to take our education online to make it more accessible in this time of COVID-19.
We believe that if we are going to be faithful in living out the Gospel, it’s vital that we continue as a church family and as individuals to be students of the Word. While it is true that dead orthodoxy does not honor our Father, neither does zeal without knowledge. Given our times and the competing world views that are constantly seeking our attentions and our affections, it’s critical that we are a people who are humbly seeking to grow in our knowledge of God and His grace. We believe that Eric and Lark will be a tremendous help to us in that endeavor.
