We’re on a roll with exciting updates! This week, we want to let you in on a brand new resource from Creekside.
According to Jesus, one of the ways we should love God is with our minds. This is why we offer Sundays at 9 classes throughout the school year. From preschool on up, these classes cover a wide range of biblical texts, theological concepts, and current issues from a biblical perspective. It is our desire that Creeksiders would know the Bible and orthodox Christian doctrine.
With that in mind, we’re excited to announce a brand new podcast called Pastors at the Mic! This podcast will be hosted by Steve Gregg (lead pastor) and myself. Our goal is to provide another resource for our congregation and anyone else who might be interested.
We will produce two episodes each month. One will cover a passage from Scripture, a theological topic, or a cultural issue. This year, we are going to walk through Jen Wilkin’s None Like Him, a book about ten attributes of God that are unique to Him. We’ll walk through some key passages, summarize her points, and talk about why it matters for your life as well as how you should discuss it with your kids.
The other episode each month will cover a ministry, initiative, or partnership at Creekside. We are really excited for the lineup we have in place so far. In the month of August, we are going to talk about Creekside’s Pastoral Residency, including an interview with Kevin Harlan. Kevin lead a pastoral residency for ten years, overseeing two dozen pastoral residents, and is now putting his efforts toward multiplying pastoral residencies throughout churches in the US.
You may be asking, “Why another podcast?” I’m glad you asked because that’s the topic of our first episode, which is already published! You can listen to it here.
As we gear up for the first year of this podcast, we want to hear from you! What kinds of things would you like to hear us discuss? What biblical passages, theological topics, or cultural issues should we be engaging? Who are the people we should be interviewing? We want this podcast to be a service to our congregation, another space to bring a biblical worldview to bear on our lives. Please send your suggestions to email@example.com.
Next week, we will be sending an update on our Youth Pastor hire. Until then, hope to see you on Sunday!
