“And the angel said to me, ‘Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’” As John hears these words, he is encouraged to look upon the ultimate wedding reception. What a sight it must have been! A people from every tribe, nation, and tongue gathered at the table, feasting in celebration of the goodness of the God who saved them.
This is one of the reasons I love serving at the annual International Friendship Thanksgiving Banquet, which is coming up on Saturday, November 23. In a very unique way, the multitude of nations, languages, ethnicities, and backgrounds who gather for this event gives us an appetizer for the true Feast, the one that is yet to come.
Here’s the catch: many people coming to the November 23 banquet don’t yet have a seat reserved at the Revelation 19 banquet. And that’s where you come in.
International Friendship is putting on the 36th Annual Thanksgiving Banquet on Saturday, November 23 in the Worship Center at Creekside. Each year, hundreds of international students and scholars attend this event to experience a traditional American Thanksgiving feast. As you can imagine, this event takes a small army of volunteers to pull off!
Would you consider being a part of this great opportunity to see the gospel reach all nations - right in our worship center? A variety of volunteer opportunities are available, from preparing one of the dishes to food service, setup to kitchen duty, table hosting and beyond. If you’re interested in volunteering, you can click here to see a list of opportunities and sign up for one (or two!). For more information, you can email Ardith Bissinger, IF’s administrative coordinator.
Join me in prayer that the seats of this banquet would be filled, and that hearts would be stirred to desire a seat at the Banquet that is yet to come!
