Prayers for Creekside's Partner Organizations

Compiled by Laura Vickery

Creekside is committed to reaching our neighbors here in Gainesville, in part by supporting the following six partner organizations. As we start the new ministry year, we ask that you please join us in praying for each of them.

Christian Study Center (CSC)
Serving the university community with the thoughtful presence of Christ
  • For students and faculty to find their way to our programs and to Pascal's Coffeehouse. The open house kick-off program was Tuesday, Sept 5 at 6:30 pm, Recalled to Life: Rediscovering the Conditions for Faith and Flourishing.
  • For the Barista Society, a fellows mentoring program for baristas, to make a lifelong impact on the student participants.
  • For a Christ-honoring life of the mind and the heart to pervade our interactions and our hospitality to visitors
  • For our director, Mike Sacasas, to find protected time to complete his book on technology
  • For wisdom on future staffing and for an expanded funding base.

CRU (at UF & Sante Fe)
Transforming students and faculty into Christ-centered, multiplying disciples to reach UF, Santa Fe, and the world.
  • Pray that our staff and students would be spiritually and relationally healthy, that we would seek to love God and His kingdom first and seek to love others well.
  • Pray for energy and commitment to reach and care for freshmen in their first 6 weeks on campus. The first 6 weeks are the most foundational for their next four years. If we can interact with them and build relationships with them here it is extremely impactful on them for the rest of college.

Gainesville Community Ministry (GCM)
Providing emergency help and hope to families and individuals who are in crisis and lack the basic necessities of life.
  • Pray for provision of food for our pantry. (We are feeding 40 families a day on average four members in each household.)
  • Pray for more donations to cover the cost of all our services.

Glen Springs Elementary
Running a weekly Bible study for the kids, helping with sponsorships for fundraising efforts, hosting lunches for the teachers and staff and giving first teachers care packages to encourage them as they join the Glen Springs family.
Prayer requests for the school as a whole, from Glen Springs’ principal:
  • Pray for our staff to continuously feel supported and excited about the important work of educating students (we are blessed to have low turnover, but it’s a tough market out there for teachers right now)
  • Pray for our students to continue to show strong educational growth
  • Pray for our community to be blessed by the work that happens here.
Prayers for the Good News Club:
  • Pray for workers to be guided by the Holy Spirit as we interact and share the gospel message with the children.
  • Pray for God to work in the hearts of the children to prepare them to receive the gospel message this year.
  • Pray for good relationships with the teachers and staff at Glen Springs.

Immigrant Hope
Equipping and resourcing churches to provide immigrants with the hope of the gospel, help finding a path to legal residency, and a home in a church that cares for their needs.
  • Pray that our interactions with clients would continue to provide mutual encouragement and fruit for the Kingdom
  • Pray that we would continue to expand our network of volunteers to assist with translation and other support tasks
  • Pray that we would find partners to join our new monthly gift matching program Sustain Immigrant Hope Monthly

SIRA
A community-funded pregnancy and wellness center supporting expectant parents
  • Abortion Pill Reversal -- Would like to add this to our services.
  • Men's Ministry -- Pilot a mentoring program for young men
  • Single Mom's Church Ministry -- Create a curriculum and plan to share with churches
  • Annual Fundraiser --September 28th
  • Opportunity to share truth, encourage hope and give help with clients and their families.
